Gardiner, Montana is the North entrance to Yellowstone National Park and is at the 45th parallel. The population is approximately 900 people. Gardiner was officially founded in 1880, but the area is also known for the “Roosevelt Arch” which, since 1872, you travel through when to enter Yellowstone National Park. You will find shopping, restaurants, and outdoor recreation in and around Gardiner. The Yellowstone River is the divider between Gardiner and Yellowstone Park.
As most of you know, Montana and parts of Yellowstone received an amazing amount of water from rain and mountain runoff. These floods have severely damaged highway 89 which runs from Livingston, Montana to Gardiner, Montana. Please make sure you can get to your destination before you leave.
